Friday Question

A short but sweet (and passionate) post today…

I’ve been thinking a LOT about passion this past month. Mostly because it was February’s Random Acts of Kick Arse theme thought up by Dani from Positively Present, one of the RAOKA Crusaders.

In a couple of days you’ll find out what my greatest passions are (and no, it’s not cup cakes, as surprising as that is) but in the meantime, I’m curious to know;

What are you passionate about?

Let fly people, I want to know what gets the juices flowing for you!

    There are a million things that I feel passionately about Sami… I guess my problem is that some of them I can’t act on (or don’t feel I can).

    For example – stopping cruelty against animals. Unfortunately because I feel so strongly about it, I feel like I couldn’t volunteer at the RSPCA or get involved in some of the other aspects of stopping it….

    Other more pleasant things include being happy in myself (I work on this all the time) and cooking!

    Can’t wait to hear about your passions…

    Well, since I’ll be posting about my passions, too, in a couple of days, I’ll save a few for then.

    Are you sure, sure cup cakes aren’t in there, Sami??? ;)

    I think I’m most passionate about finding peace — both inside my own mind/body as well as globally. Why can’t we just all get along — and by that I mean the concept of world peace as well as my left and right brain!

    Thanks for bring up the concept of passion. I’m looking forward to reading your post!
    :)

    RAOKA!! Two more days? Cool!!

    Now sings Rod Stewart’s passion, passion.

    Continues to hum throughout commenting.

    I am passionate about blogging, trees, steak, my nears and dears (obviously not in that order, necessarily) sunlight through leaves, maple syrup on my pancakes, coffee in my morning cup, life, love, singing, laughing and the dream
    of travel.

    Cupcakes???

    I’m passionate about trying to be the best mum and wife I can be (without losing myself). I’m also passionate about becoming a midwife. I’ve just starting studying. Bring it on. I can’t wait! I also can’t wait to find out about your greatest passion. Hope Chris won’t get jealous.

    Great question! I’m passionate about a lot of things, but mostly I’m passionate about writing. I LOVE to write and do it almost every chance I get!

    @Kirsty
    Hey Kirsty! I hear you on not feeling like you can act on all the things you feel passionately about. There are so many causes and charities that I’d love to help more but there’s only so far my resources and cash can go. What I’ve decided to do is give a little bit to a lot of places/causes. If everyone gave a little bit to a wide range of things they’re passionate about, it would add up.
    Being happy in ourselves should be something we’re ALL passionate about. I wish more people were.

    @Lori
    Hey Chicka. OK, cup cakes are definitely up there but let’s just say they didn’t make the top 2. Watch this space to see what the top 2 are. I’m pretty sure you won’t be surprised.
    Oh peace, now that’s a GREAT passion to have. Tell those brain hemispheres of yours to get their shit together will you? xxx

    @Jannie
    Hi there Jannie! How funny that you started singing (one of your passions) as you left a comment about what you’re passionate about. You were indulging IN your passion as you were writing ABOUT your passion. What a clever little multitasker you are!! :) Great list by the way.

    PS. Yep, RAOKA is on tomorrow. RAOKA on girl!

    @Woolly
    Hey Woolly! I love how you said you’re passionate about being the best mum and wife you can without losing yourself. I don’t think you can be the best if you do lose yourself. And as for becoming a midwife, you are gonna rock girl!!

    @Positively Present
    Hey Dani, now why am I not surprised you said writing is what you’re most passionate about? I never would have guessed! ;) Mind you, I don’t think there will be any surprises for you either when you see what I’ve nominated as my passions. By the way, you can totally tell how passionate you are about writing, it shines through in your words.

    Wow. Passion. Great topic!

    I’m passionate about music. Must have it. Can’t live without it. It drives me, it soothes me during the rough times, and it gets me excited about life when the humdrum of work gets to me. Sometimes I’ll plug my expen$ive Shure earplugs in, turn on my iPhone and listen to tunes all morning while working. (Which, oddly, seems to help me with my symptoms of ADD)

    I’m also quite passionate about a girl I’m seeing. But that’s a different story. :)

    So glad I found your blog!

    Hi Wolfshades (very cool name by the way). Yep, music is a great passion to have for sure! Your comment demonstrates perfectly the different applications it has.

    Hello Sami,

    I feel most passionate about conservation, wildlife, baking, travelling, learning, nutrition, and family. I’m sure there are and will be lots of other passions on my life, but these are the most important to me right now.

    It’s awesome that you are living out your passion! :)

    Good question! I’m passionate about my daughter, education, music . . . so much!

    @Lilly
    Hey there Lilly. Very cool to see you have many more than one passion. Makes life interesting!

  17. Sami said:

    @Kristie
    Thanks Kristie. Your passions are very similar to mine, except for the baking. I missed out on that gene. You’ll just have to make up for me! Thanks very much for stopping by.

    Hey Mama Zen! Nice one. I know what you mean about having so much to be passionate about. In my RAOKA post I’ve narrowed it down to 2 – it wasn’t easy!
