GreenPrint is a Portland based company who’ve developed software that eliminates unwanted pages when printing documents from web pages. The software helps you save paper and ink in 3 ways.
- It brings up a preview that highlights typical wasteful content (my technical term for this is gobbledygook) so you can print only what you need.
- It lets you easily save web pages as PDFs reducing the need to print at all.
- For rough drafts and other unofficial documents, you have the option to print to a designated printer that only uses paper that’s already been printed on one side.
GreenPrint have also developed a font called Evergreen which is designed to fit more characters on each page whilst still being easy to read. The company says the Evergreen font uses 15 to 20% less paper than Arial or Times New Roman fonts.
