Friday Question

Photo by The Ninja Monkey

I have a grand vision for Life, Laughs & Lemmings (of which I’ll be letting you guys know about soon). The planets must currently be aligned (in my head at least), because my ideas seem to be finally coming together in some semblance of a plan (as opposed to the general “confetti meets cyclone” type goings on in my brain)!

The process of thinking about the purpose of this blog has naturally flowed into thinking about the purpose of my life and what dreams, aspirations and hopes I have for myself. It’s prompted this week’s question;

Do you have dreams you are yet to realize and if so, what are they?

For me, the short answers are 1. Yes and 2. Go check out my Daisy List (that’s where you’ll find most of them). Don’t get me wrong, I have accomplished many dreams already and am very happy with my life but there’s so much more to see, do, be and try. Dreams for me, big and small, are the spice of life. They are a big part of what living like you mean it is all about.

So, how about you? What are your dreams?

    Oooooh, ooooh, I can’t wait to be “let know” about your grand visions for Life, Laughs & Lemmings. I can say I’ve loved the journey here thus far.

    I also really dig your Daisy List. I am anticipating you reaching everything on your list – you’ve got the chops, girl!

    Do I have dreams yet to realize? Short answer, you bet!

    Thanks for your grooviness. I’ve enjoyed the ride!

    ~Peace~

    Hey Lori, yep, I’m going to give the Daisy List my best shot (or die trying)! I love a challenge.
    Hang on for the next part of the ride! All shall be revealed shortly. :)

    Yay, excited!! Can’t wait to see what you have in store…. I have loved what you have done so far and look forward to your daily posts!

    As for dreams… I think it is apparent that I do from my interview with you…hehe. I have my own version of a daisy list and find myself adding to it all the time. Still yet to find my purpose, but have a feeling it is working itself out through listing and working towards all my goals and dreams! I will just have to wait and see…. (even though I am impatient and would rather know right here right now what my purpose is)!

    If I listed all of my dreams here, there wouldn’t be room for anyone else to write :)

    Hey Sami,
    So…you have planets in your head…I’m thinking that’s what makes you a “star gazer” of life…a dreamer…a “I believe I can”…a “if I can dream it, I can achieve it” – kind of gal…

    And I think that’s pretty awesome!

    And your Daisy List is just so great!

    Do I have dreams? Sure I do. In fact, I just pulled up a list I’d recently created – to see what I had on there. Climb a mountain, visit several foreign countries (Australia is on that list…watch out!), write a book, …and several more. I think what I pull from this, is that what matters in the experience, the journey – in all of it. In the end, I want this journey I’m on through life to be one that is filled with much self-discovery and moments of seeing the magnificence of our world.

    Looking forward to what’s coming up here…

    Yes, I do — one of the biggest ones being that I want to someday become a published author. That’s probably the biggest dream I have right now and I know it’s within my reach! :)

    Yes, I do have dreams. But I like to keep them on the DL most of the time; it’s my way of protecting their magic :D Crazy? Maybe a little … but it’s like a superstition with me.

    I love your Daisy List and the way you’re living life to the fullest. Looking forward to learning your plans for LL&L soon. :D

    Holy Crap, Sami — I HAVE to respond to this one!! For all my life I’ve had a secret dream, to be a writer; but geez, life kept getting in the way (as I allowed it to, no excuses here). Last winter I found myself spending ‘way too much time in front of my computer playing — yes, really — mahjong! I finally realized what a waste, so heck, I wrote a book! A little book, true, and I even self-published it (why, you ask? I have absolutely no time for rejection, ha ha). Well, that went so swimmingly, I decided to get a “real” blog going, and that’s my current dream: to have a new and successful blog, which I’m working on. Writing that darn little book did something amazing: it unleashed the writing monster within, and she’s gone nuts and I love it!

    Oh yes, another dream: spend a summer in Alaska, but that won’t happen until yet another dream becomes reality: a great little motorhome to replace my great little travel trailer.

    Sorry for the length here, but you and your question turned my monster loose! You are one awesome gal!

    Having dreams are what get you out of bed in the morning right? My dream, as you now know, is to become a midwife and thus help other people achieve their dreams of becoming parents. It has taken me awhile to find this dream, but I’m very excited about it. I applied for enrollment the other night. Keep everything crossed for me!!?!?!.
    Being a parent also means I have so many dreams for my children – in a nutshell I want them to be thoughtful and respectful of others, but with enough drive to achieve their chosen dreams. I want to give them the scope to know they can achieve whatever they put their minds too.
    Sami, I know whatever you do with LL&L will be awesome. Can’t wait to take the journey with you.

    Hey Valeska, thanks for your lovely feedback on the site. I’ll be sure to let you guys know about the changes soon.
    Yes, the interview did highlight the fact that you have more than a few dreams yet to achieve (and I have no doubt you’ll give it a good shake achieving them) . I found life coaching really helpful with uncovering my purpose. I know it’s not something you can easily do while you’re travelling but you could look at it when you get home maybe.

    @Lance
    Hey Lance, thanks and yep, you’d be amazed what you would find in my head (and probably a little disturbed too!). You totally have to achieve your dream of visiting several foreign countries so you can make a trip to visit us in Aus (I’ll even cook you damper)! I love the comment you made about “moments of seeing the magnificence of our world”. So much to see and not enough lifetimes to see it.

    @Positively Present
    Hey PP, I have no doubt you’ll achieve that dream. You have a gift so it’s only a matter of time. Don’t forget us little people when you’re a best-selling author!

    @Chania Girl
    Hi CG, I can totally understand why you’d want to keep your dreams to yourself to “protect their magic”. There’s nothing crazy about that – we’re all different in how we like to progress with our dreams. Whatever works for you Chickie! I do believe we are kindred spirits when it comes to living life to the fullest too.

    @Jeanne
    Hi Jeanne, it doesn’t surprise me that a few people in this community would like to publish a book given writing is a big reason we all enjoy blogging! What’s cool with you is that you’ve actually done it! Awesome to see. What’s even better is that the book has “unleashed the writing monster within” – love it! Go for it! I’m sure your blog will be a success.
    Re Alaska, I did an Alaskan cruise last year. Started in Vancouver and traveled through the Inside Passage to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Glacier Bay. It was amazing. Alaska is stunning.
    Very glad I helped let the monster loose and thanks very much! :)

    @Woolly
    Hey Woolly, I’m totally stoked you’ve found your dream and are on the road to achieving it! You’ll make an awesome midwife and I can so see you doing it.
    A great point you raise re your kids too. I’m sure every parent worth their salt has similar dreams for their children. I think it’s so cool you are instilling in them from a young age that they can achieve anything they put their minds too. That will serve them well.
    Thanks for coming on the LL&L journey with me. Very glad to have you along! xxx
