The idea for SAME Cafe was born out of Libby and Brad Birky’s experiences in volunteering at food banks and shelters over a number of years. The cafe, based in Denver Colorado, has a great philosophy; “Everyone, regardless of economic status, deserves the chance to eat healthy food while being treated with dignity”. There are probably more than a few of my friends who’d consider me odd. It’s possibly my obsession with carrot cake and the fact that I’m really not comfortable with buttons (don’t ask) that could be partly to blame.
